All girls in grades 1-6 are invited to join GAs. As GAs we learn about missionaries, pray for missionaries, give to missions and participate in mission projects. With each mission project, we are spreading God’s love to those in need. GAs lays the foundation for a life-long missions lifestyle. Annual events include Christmas in August, filling shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse and selling jar mixes. Last year, our jar mixes raised $1,200 for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, support for a Compassion-sponsored girl in India and support for Emily Minter in China. In January we made goodie bags for residents of a local domestic violence shelter. In April we made lollipop flowers and delivered them in May along with the Round Hill Rejoicers to the residents at the Westmoreland Rehab Center in Colonial Beach. We attend GA Mom & Me at Eagle Eyrie. For fun, we enjoy pool parties, skating, bowling and we usually have a sleepover in the summer.
Royal Ambassadors is our group for boys in grades 1-6. RAs are affiliated with a Baptist missions discipleship organization working towards helping these young men to become members of a faith-based brotherhood. Through hands-on activities that encourage spiritual growth, games and sports, and mentoring relationships with RA leaders, boys learn what it truly means to become “Ambassadors for Christ.”
Mission Friends is our mission group for boys and girls ages 3 – K. Wondering how young can a child be and still learn Christian missions concepts? The preschool years! From babies to kindergartners, Mission Friends provides the building blocks of faith and a basic awareness of God’s love for all people.
